In the early hours of this morning, the Prosecutor General, Uz. Hussain Shameem was attacked with a weapon, by two individuals on a motorcycle.

 

The incident occured on the streets of the capital city Male'. The Prosecutor General sustained injuries to his body and is receiving treatment at ADK Hospital. He is now in stable condition. 

 

Maldives Police Services are investigating this incident as a high priority.

 

The motive behind the attack is unclear at the moment.
