A delegation of 15 (fifteen) prosecutors from the Prosecutor General’s Office is traveling to India to participate in a two week specialized training programme on investigation and prosecution matters at Rashtriya Raksha University, India, from 18 to 29 August 2025.

The programme, conducted under the Government of India’s Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC)initiative, covers a wide range of areas including international human rights law, maritime law, piracy and maritime security, conflict resolution, and behavioral approaches to law and policy. The training is designed to strengthen prosecutorial skills and enhance regional cooperation in combating transnational crime.

Abbas Shareef extends his sincere appreciation to the Government of India and the High Commission of India in Maldives for facilitating this important capacity building opportunity, which will further contribute to strengthening the criminal justice system of the Maldives.
